ORANGE COUNTY -- A man from Orange County who's already led a pretty remarkable life just achieved another rare milestone.
Daniel Oldewage, a World War II veteran who also survived as a prisoner of war in North Korea for more than two years, celebrated his 100th birthday last Thursday.
Oldewage enjoys Friday lunches at Durty Nelly's Irish pub in Costa Mesa and finishing crossword puzzles.
He also volunteers at the Lyon Air Museum, hanging out with other airmen and sharing his POW story, something that's helped keep him going.
Oldewage's children also credit the residents and the staff at the Oakmont of Orange senior living community, saying their friendship has kept him happy and motivated in his older age.
