SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Someone in Sherman Oaks is suddenly much richer!

Although there was no jackpot winner in Monday night's Powerball lottery, someone in Los Angeles won $1,378,451.

The ticket was sold at the 76 Station at 14478 Ventura Blvd. It matched all numbers except the Powerball number.

The winning numbers in the Labor Day multi-state Powerball lottery drawing are 8, 23, 25, 40, 53 and the Powerball number is 5.

Since no tickets matched all six numbers, the jackpot for the next drawing on Wednesday rose to a staggering $1.3 billion.

Wednesday's jackpot ranks as the fifth largest in the Powerball game and the ninth largest among U.S. lottery jackpot games.

Monday's Powerball drawing was the 40th drawing since the jackpot was last won in California on May 31, 2025. To date, the longest Powerball jackpot run has been 42 consecutive drawings, which was set on April 6, 2024, with a $1.326 billion jackpot winner in Oregon.

If a player wins Wednesday's jackpot, they will have the choice between an annuitized prize estimated at $1.3 billion or a lump sum payment estimated at $589.0 million. Both prize options are before taxes. Winners can choose between annual payments over 30 years, with a 5% increase each year, or the immediate cash option.

Drawings are broadcast live from Tallahassee, Florida, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET and streamed on Powerball.com.
