LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A murder suspect led authorities on a lengthy high-speed chase through South Los Angeles amid rush-hour traffic Thursday afternoon.
The suspect in a black Toyota Corolla Hatchback was zipping through busy side streets before hopping on the south 110 Freeway.
Details about the alleged murder were not immediately available.
At one point, he dodged traffic by driving at high-speeds on the freeway's shoulder.
He then exited the freeway through an entrance, driving the wrong-way and hitting a truck. That caused major damage to the car's bumper, but it did not deter him from taking off again.
The murder suspect then hopped back on the freeway while his bumper was hanging lose, where police had traffic at a standstill as they waited for the erratic driver with a spike strip.
The front left tire was significantly injured due to the spike strip, eventually losing the right tire too.
The police chase continued into South L.A. where the driver essentially went in circles.
Finally, a short time later, the driver stopped, got out of the car and was taken into custody on 92nd Street in South Los Angeles.
