MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A Moreno Valley woman who recently put her pit bull to sleep is demanding answers after the company that was supposed to cremate her pet abruptly closed its doors, leaving her with no information on the animal's location.
"It's horrible because this is my son," Ashley Talbot said. "And to know that he's some place, and I can't go pick him up, and I can't bring him home safe, and to not be able to have control over it is very hard."
Talbot said it's been more than four weeks since Angel Paws Pet Cremation, located in San Marcos in San Diego County, took possession of her pit bull Blue. She said she has emailed them repeatedly with no response.
Eyewitness News has attempted to reach out to the company for comment, but their phone number is disconnected.
Talbot said she's unsure how many other people may be in a similar predicament.
"I'm not sure how many pets went with Blue, but I know that (the owner) has a lot of pets that are frozen and ready to be sent home. He knows all the information because he picked up all the animals himself," Talbot said.
"I just don't know why he doesn't tell us," she added.
Talbot said it's not just the more than $400 that she paid for the company to cremate her animal, but not knowing where Blue is right now.
"I understand you came to a hard time," said Talbot about the owner of Angel Paws Pet Cremation. "But understand us; just let us get our pets."
