LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California will continue to experience hot weather as an area of high pressure from the east brings scorching temperatures.
A Heat Advisory is in place for much of the Los Angeles area through Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Monsoonal moisture is expected to move into Southern California on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing rain chances to some areas.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Tuesday can expect a high of 92 degrees and a low of 70, amid humid conditions and a 30% chance of rain. Temperatures will begin to cool off by Thursday, but it will still be warm.
The valleys and Inland Empire on Tuesday will be hot and humid with a high of 101 degrees and a low of 70. There will be a 30% chance of rain. Triple-digit highs are in the forecast through Wednesday. Temperatures will be in the low 90s by the weekend.
Beaches on Tuesday can expect a 20% chance of showers with a high of 78 degrees and a low of 70. Temperatures are expected to stay in the 70s for the rest of the week, with cloudy mornings and sunny skies in the afternoon.
The mountain areas on Tuesday will experience a high of 71 degrees and a low of 48, with a 60% of flash flooding occurring in the area. Similar conditions are expected on Wednesday.
Desert areas on Tuesday can expect a high of 96 degrees and a low of 73, with a 60% chance of thunderstorms. Similar conditions are expected through Friday. Palm Springs is expected to reach 103 degrees. Partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 90s are in the forecast for the weekend.
