BEAUMONT, Calif. (KABC) -- Residents in the Inland Empire saw some wild weather Tuesday morning, including wind, rain and heat.

In Beaumont, the morning was calm, but things turned chaotic as large thunderstorms formed off to the east. Even though the heat wave will continue, the forecast called for mostly cloudy skies with morning thunderstorms.

"Oh gosh, it's just been a stir-up of wind, dust, lots of dirt," said Paisley Reading, who lives in Banning. "The sky was just light brown. I was in Kansas years ago, so for me, it reminded me of a tornado."

Video shared with Eyewitness News from the Mission Grove neighborhood in Riverside showed downed trees and patio umbrellas scattered on the sidewalk. Powerful gusts lasted for close to an hour.

A doorbell camera captured the moment strong winds in the Inland Empire pulled a tree down onto a Riverside home as wild monsoon storms popped up across the area.

The home is now red-tagged -- meaning the people who live there will have to stay somewhere else.

For those who didn't experience damage, there was still likely quite a mess to clean up.

"It was like a dust storm," said Banning resident Miguel Ruiz. "It was insane, and we were driving our truck earlier on the freeway, and it was just blowing us over to the side of the road, so it was crazy."

Of course, all the rain, wind and cloud cover does mean one thing: much cooler temperatures, especially compared to Monday.
