5 people hurt after driver hits pedestrians in Chinatown, LAPD saysPolice said a woman behind the wheel of a black SUV crashed into the victims, and after the collision, a fight broke out.

CHINATOWN, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Several pedestrians were hurt when they were hit by a car in Chinatown on Friday.

The crash happened outside of Homeboy Industries at Alameda Street and Alpine Street around 11:45 a.m., according to Los Angeles police.

There were five patients total -- four of them were transported to the hospital, and one reportedly refused treatment.

Police said a woman behind the wheel of a black SUV slammed into the victims, and after the collision, a fight broke out.

Officers detained two to four people at the scene, according to LAPD. The driver was taken into custody.

Investigators at the scene said the crash stemmed from a domestic violence incident.

Additional details about the victims' conditions and what exactly led up to the crash were not immediately available.
